Celebrating Occupational Therapy Month with Heather Holland, OT-Encore Rehabilitation-Winfield

April is Occupational Therapy Month!

Today we recognize Heather Holland!

Heather is a graduate of Winfield City High School. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama in Exercise Science. She graduated from Alabama State University with a master’s degree in Occupational Therapy in 2017.

Heather is currently employed as an Occupational Therapist at Encore Rehabilitation in her hometown of Winfield and also provides services at our Encore Rehabilitation-Hamilton location. She has been a clinician for five years and has practiced with Encore Rehabilitation for nearly two years. At Encore Rehabilitation, Heather has the opportunity to work in multiple settings, with various populations, and use creative treatment approaches.

Heather is married and has one child. She enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and traveling.

Heather’s interests in Occupational Therapy include orthopedic rehabilitation with an emphasis on hand therapy and custom splinting.

When asked why she loves OT Heather replied, “In my profession, I get the opportunity to enable people to become as independent as possible in their every day lives. I get patients back to doing what they love. What could be more rewarding than that?” For Heather, Occupational Therapy provides countless opportunities to serve others and her community.

We are proud to have Heather on the Encore Rehabilitation Team!
