Simon Waldrop is a licensed Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA/L) with a strong background in diverse clinical settings, including outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing facilities, acute care, and pediatrics. A graduate of Pearl River Community College, Simon brings both clinical knowledge and real-world experience to every patient interaction.

As a U.S. Army veteran, Simon is known for his discipline, reliability, and commitment to service—qualities that translate into compassionate, patient-centered care. With a deep understanding of functional therapy techniques and a passion for improving quality of life, Simon is dedicated to helping individuals regain independence and reach their fullest potential.

Join us in welcoming Gini Beth Michaels, PT, DPT!

Gini Beth recently joined Encore Rehabilitation-Athens as a Physical Therapist and is excited to begin serving patients in the Athens community! She earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Alabama State University and her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science, with a minor in Psychology, from the University of South Alabama.

Gini Beth has a special interest in orthopedics, pre- and post-surgical rehabilitation, and neurological rehab. She enjoys helping patients of all ages improve strength, restore movement, and return to the activities that matter most to them. Her goal is to make every patient feel supported, encouraged, and confident throughout their recovery journey.

She brings a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a genuine passion for helping others live healthier, more active lives.

David Lowery is Patient of the Month for Encore Rehabilitation-Fayette

Join us in celebrating David Lowery, our Patient of the Month at Encore Rehabilitation – Fayette!

Mr. Lowery came to us experiencing significant pain in the bottom of his foot, later diagnosed as Plantar Fasciitis. The discomfort had progressed to the point where even walking became a challenge. Determined to get back on his feet, he began physical therapy with a focus on reducing pain while improving strength and flexibility.

After hearing a recommendation from a friend who had a great experience with us, Mr. Lowery chose Encore Rehabilitation – Fayette for his care—and we’re so glad he did! He shared that our team was “super helpful, nice, and made it very enjoyable to come to physical therapy,” which is exactly the environment we strive to create for every patient!

It has truly been a joy working with Mr. Lowery and watching his progress. His dedication and positive attitude have made a big difference in his recovery, and we are so thankful to be part of his journey as he continues to get better every day!

“I had two falls. My legs and ankles were weak. My doctor referred me to Encore Rehabilitation-Pelham to help build and strengthen my bones and muscles. I received a wide variety of strength training and balance exercises. The Physical Therapy helped immensely! Each time I came, I was able to do a little more than the time before. Cal is a sophomore football player at Orange Beach High School with big goals both on and off the field! He plans to pursue a degree at Mississippi State University and continues to work hard toward his future.
