Congratulations to the Gordo Encore Athlete of the Month, Patrick Manning! Patrick is a rising senior and multi-sport athlete at Gordo High School. He has been a member of the Greenwave Varsity Football and Basketball teams for 3 years and wears jersey #3. Patrick has won the Defensie Back of the Year 2 times, Running Back of the Year, and chosen for All-State. He currently has a 3.4 GPA and plans to attend college to major in business and play football. Patrick is the son of Samara and Patrick Manning.

Gordo Clinic Athlete of the Month, Jayquan Williams.

Congratulations to the Gordo Encore Athlete of the Month, Jayquan Williams! Jayquan is a senior, athlete at Gordo High School and is a member of the football team. You can find him on the field wearing jersey number 22 this season. After he graduates in the spring, he plans on joining the airforce. Jayquan is the son of Cheri and Jamie Williams. Keep up the good work this season, Jayquan! Good luck!

Gordo Clinic Athlete of the Month, Nicholas Pounders.

Congratulations to the Gordo Clinic Athlete of the Month, Nicholas Pounders! Nicholas is a freshman at Gordo High School and has played multiple sports for the Junior high and high school teams. He has pitched and played first base for the Baseball team for 2 years, football for 3 years (in Jr. High), and Basketball for 3 years on the Jr. High team and 1 year on varsity team. A few of NIcholas’s awards consist of pitching 17 and 2 his last two years, playing with Baseball Country in Tuscaloosa who won the Post 34 State Championship two years ago, and he is currently playing in the semi-finals with Gordo High- hoping for a state championship! Apart from his thriving sports career, he also has a 3.9 GPA in high school. Nicholas is the son of David and Diane Pounders. Keep up the good work, Nicholas!
