Congratulations to the Decatur Encore Athlete of the Month, Brianna Thorne! Bre is a senior at West Morgan high school and is member of the Lady Rebels Soccer team. You can find her on the field wearing jersey number 21 this year. She has wracked up a few awards during her high school career – the AL.com Super All-State 1st Team award, the 2015 1-3A All-State award, the 2015 Decatur Daily Player of the Year, and was chosen to be on the AHSAA North All Star Team. Bre currently has a 4.03 GPA and plans to attend UAH to play soccer this fall. She is the daughter of Brian and Jennifer Thorne. Keep up the good work, Bre!
Congratulations to the Vernon Encore Athlete of the Month, Collin Carruth! Collin is a Junior, multi-sport athlete at Sulligent High School. He plays football, baseball, and basketball for the Blue Devils and has been playing on their varsity teams for 4 years now. He wears jersey #70 in football, #14 in baseball, and #21 in basketball. His sports awards consist of Best Offensive Lineman and NMMC Player of the Week for football, and Defensive player of the Year for baseball. He has a 4.0 GPA and hopes to play college football while majoring in accounting. Collin is the son of Brent and Michelle Carruth.
Congratulations to Jake Bonner who was chosen as the Haleyville Clinic Athlete of the Month! Jake is a senior athlete at Phillips High School in Bear Creek, AL. He is a member of the Bear’s basketball team and you can find him on the court wearing the jersey number 21. His impressive award count consist of the Timesdaily 1A-3A basketball Player of the Year, 1st Team All-State his junior year, All-County and All-Conference for the last 4 years, and All-Regional the last 2 years. Congratulations to Mason Duke who was chosen as the Inverness Encore Athlete of the Month! Mason is a senior at Spain Park High School, as well as, a multi-sport athlete. He plays baseball and football for the Jags and wears the jersey numbers 12 and 21. His sports awards consist of 1st Team All State and the 2014 Hoover Metro Player of the Year. Apart from his sports career, Mason holds a 3.44 GPA and plans to attend Shelton State after graduation. Mason is the son of Jon and Kim Duke. Congratulations again, and keep up the good work!
Congratulations to Aaron Black who was chosen as the Arab Clinic Athlete of the Month! Aaron is a senior athlete at Brindlee Mountain High School in Guntersville, Alabama. He has been a member of the varsity Lions baseball team for 4 years now and wears jersey number 21. Aaron has also played on the Marshall County All Tournament Team. After graduation, he plans to attend college and major in Physical Therapy. Aaron is the son of Stacey Hale and Gary Black.

Congratulations to Morgan Smith who was chosen as the Cullman Clinic Athlete of the Month. Morgan, also known as “Mojo“, is a 5’10”, sophomore, athlete at Wallace State Community College majoring in education. She is a member of the Lady Lions basketball team and wears jersey number 21. Originally a Cullman native, Morgan graduated from Cullman high school (where a lot of talent seems to develop) and played basketball for the Lady Bearcats. Just this year, she has racked up two impressive awards: the 2015 First Team All Region and 2015 Alabama Community College Conference Player of the Year. We are sure there are many more in the future for Morgan.
