“In December 2023 I had my first knee replacement surgery and I chose Encore for my Physical Therapy. I, and others in my family, had used Encore before through the years and I knew some of the staff personally. Coincidentally, my surgeon said that is who he preferred his patients use in this area. So, two days after surgery I began my rehab journey and never regretted my decision. The staff is so friendly and personable all while being really good at their job.

Even on days I was struggling and feeling like a total failure, they were there always encouraging me and praising my progress. I had the second knee done last Fall and started all over again. It was a hard journey and not always a pleasant one, but they made it easier and as enjoyable as it could be. Paxton is a Senior at Russellville High School where competes in football and golf. He enjoys hunting and fishing when not playing high school sports. Paxton plans on attending Northwest Shoals Community College after high school graduation to begin his pursuit for a degree in Physical Therapy.

Meet Judith Johnston our Encore Rehabilitation – Muscle Shoals, Patient of the Month!
Mrs. Johnston is a dedicated individual who successfully strengthened her rotator cuff, under the direction of her Physical Therapist Tanner Hawkins, and was able to avoid shoulder surgery!
After experiencing persistent shoulder pain and limited mobility, Mrs. Johnston was faced with possibly undergoing surgery. However, through a commitment to physical therapy and rigorous strengthening regimen, she was able to regain strength, improve range of motion, and reduce her pain significantly.
Working closely with our Rehab Team, Mrs. Johnston followed a customized program that included targeted exercises, progressive resistance training, and mobility drills.
Mrs. Johnston said, “Tanner Hawkins, PT, had a plan to strengthen the muscles around the rotator cuff to help me avoid surgery and I am so much stronger now and the results are incredible! I am so pleased! Tanner is kind and gentle and knows the exact exercises needed for each problem area you have and his skill level is amazing!”
