Athletic Trainer saves a life- Lissa Little, Encore MSATC.

We would like to recognize and commend Lissa LittleMSATC at East and West Marion High School, for her quick response, lifesaving skills that kept a woman alive during a basketball tournament this past December. Aiding her, was Columbia’s high school ATC, Fred Worthy. Lissa is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi and has worked for Encore Rehab the last three years. Thank you for all you do, Lissa!

Two Encore Athletes in the 2015 Under Armour All-America High School Football Game.

Encore Rehabilitation is the largest, privately owned, rehabilitation company in Alabama and Mississippi; as well as, one of the leading sports medicine providers in Alabama high schools. We would like to recognize two of our school’s athletes who will be competing in the the 2015 All-America High School Football Game today starting at 4:00 PM eastern time.

Darrell Williams, a 6’3″, senior OLB (#12), from Hoover High School, will be playing in the UA All American game today. Williams has had multiple offers to 4-year schools and chose to commit to Auburn University last May. Williams, along with the Hoover Buccaneers football team, recently won the first AHSAA 7A State Championship this past December. You can view his recruiting profile here.

Kerryon Johnson, a 6’0, 4 star, senior athlete (#3) from Madison Academy High School will also be playing in the UA All American game today. He is ranked #3 on the ESPN 300 football recruiting website and has had offers to multiple 4-year schools. Diamondhead Clinic Athlete of the Month, Amanda Green.

Congratulations to the Diamondhead Encore Athlete of the Month, Amanda Green. Amanda is a sophomore, multi-sport, athlete at Hancock High School and a member of the basketball and volleyball teams (#24).  Her future plans are to attend The University of South Alabama and major in the medical field.  Amanda is the daughter of George and Merry Green. Keep up the good work, Amanda!

Fayette Clinic Athlete of the Month, Claudie Thompson.

Congratulations to the Fayette Encore Athlete of the Month, Claudie Thompson. Claudie is a 10 years old, 5th grader and plays basketball and football. He started therapy at Encore after he broke his knee cap and tore his tendons away from it during a football game accident. Claudie is now on his way to a speedy recovery and back to playing the sport he loves! Keep you the good work, Claudie!

Congratulations to the Columbiana Encore Athlete of the Month, Catherine Cole! Catherine is a sophomore at Shelby County High School and a member of the dance team. Her hobbies include dancing and hanging out with friends. After high school, Catherine plans on attending Auburn University. Catherine is the daughter of Ray and Camille Cole. Keep up the good work, Catherine!

Gulf Shores Clinic Athlete of the Month, Wade Kornegay.

Congratulations to the Gulf Shores Encore Athlete of the Month, Wade Kornegay! Wade is a 14 years old, freshman at Gulf Shores High School and a member of the soccer team! During his sport’s off season, he has been coming to Encore for therapy on his ankle and foot that has had weakness/stiffness. He has been improving with his therapy and will be ready to get back in the game by next season! Wade is the son of Eric and Meghan Kornegay. Keep up the good work, Wade!

Clanton Encore Athlete of the Month, Roberto “Birdie” Abarca.

Congratulations to the Clanton Encore Athlete of the Month, Roberto “Birdie” Abarca! Roberto is 17 years old and plays football for Jemison High School. His positions in football include linebacker/kicker and he enjoys working out for his sport. He has two sibling, Maria Abarca who plays volleyball and basketball for Jemison, and Antonio Abarca who attends Jemison Intermediate school. Roberto plans to attend UAB for law school after he graduates. Keep up the good work, Roberto!

Cullman Encore Athlete of the Month, Holly Posey!

Congratulations to the Cullman Clinic Encore Athlete of the Month, Holly Posey! Holly is a setter (#22) for the Addison High School Varsity Volleyball team and has committed to play Volleyball at UAH in Huntsville next year. She recently broke the AHSAA state record for assists at 1440, which was added to her 7856 total career assists. The Lady Bulldog’s Volleyball team recently won the 2A State Championship back in October at the Crossplex in Birmingham. Good luck throughout your college career, Holly! Keep up the good work!
