His impressive award count consist of the Timesdaily 1A-3A basketball Player of the Year, 1st Team All-State his junior year, All-County and All-Conference for the last 4 years, and All-Regional the last 2 years. Congratulations to one of the funnest patients we have ever had, Joel Powell! Joel was chosen as the October Alabama Pain Center Athlete of the Month and is a multi-sport, athlete at Huntsville High School. He is a member of the Panther’s football and basketball teams. You can find him on the field, or on the court, wearing the jersey number 14 and 30 respectively. Joel has a 4.0 GPA and plans to attend with Auburn University or UAB to study orthopedic surgery. Congratulations to Hayden’s Encore Athletes of the Month, Alison Pugh and Drennen Hutchens! Both athletes are from Corner High School located in Dora, Alabama. Encore is now the proud providers of sports medicine and ATC coverage for the Corner High School athletic program.
We will start with the ladies first – Alison is a junior and has played on the varsity volleyball team for 2 years now. She has won the athletics award and wears the jersey number 00. After high school, she plans on continuing her education in the sports medicine field. Alison is the daughter of Russ and Heather Harding.
Drennen is a senior and plays football, basketball, and runs track for the Yellow Jackets. He has played varsity sports since the 10th grade and wears jersey #2 for football and #00 in basketball. After graduation, Drennen plans to attend a state university for Physical Therapy. He is the son of Judy Woods.
