Congratulations to Tristen Palmisano for being chosen as the Arab Clinic Athlete of the Month! Tristen is a Senior, multi-sport athlete from Brindlee Mountain High School with a 3.6 GPA. He has played football (#5) for 4 years, basketball (#12) for 3 years, and weight lifted for 2 years. Tristen is also Captain of the Lions football team. After graduation, he plans to attend JSU to earn an Education degree specializing in math. Tristen is the son of Paula and Jerry Brown.

Monroeville Encore Athlete of the Month, Griffin McKenzie.

Congratulations to the Monroeville Clinic Athlete of the Month, Griffin McKenzie! Griffin is a Freshman, multi-sport athlete from Monroe Academy. He is #14 on the football and baseball teams, and has played both sports for 2 years. Last year, Griffin received the JV Offensive Player of the Year award for baseball, and has an A average for the semester. Griffin is the son of Shannon and Stacy McKenzie. Keep up the hard work, Griffin, and good luck during baseball season!

Congratulations to the William Carey University Encore Athlete of the MonthBrooklyn Guillot! Brooklyn is a 21 year old, junior, majoring in Business Administration at WCU. She is also a pitcher for the softball team and received the 2014- NAIA National Runner-Up last year! After graduation, she hopes to go back home to Baton Rouge, LA, get a job and go to graduate school at LSU. Good luck this softball season Brooklyn! Keep up the good work!

Congratulations to the Providence Clinic Athlete of the Month, Jordan Aubrey! Jordan is a multi-sport, junior athlete at Mobile Christian School. He is a member of the football (#16, QB FS) and track and field teams. A few of his awards consist of  A&P Honors Award, 2014 Math Club 2014, Bible Award 2014, National Honors Society 2014, School Historian SGA 2014-2015, and A- Honor Roll 2014. After he graduates, Jordan would like to attend college and major in Physical Therapy or Athletic Training. Jordan is the son of Tom and Jennifer Aubrey. 

Cullman Clinic Athlete of the Month, Austin Smith.

Congratulations to the Cullman Encore Athlete of the Month, Austin Smith! Austin is a senior at Holly Pond high school and a member of the Bronco’s basketball team, who is currently ranked #1 in the state for class 3A. He is averaging 21 points, 8 rebounds, 4 steals, and 2 blocks per game. (He can also make dunking look really easy.) After graduation, Austin plans on attending Wallace State Community College and majoring in Accounting. His parents are Brian Smith and Leslie Osborn. Russellville Encore Athlete of the Month, Courtney Baker.

Congratulations to the Russellville Clinic Athlete of the MonthCourtney Baker! Courtey is a senior at Phil Campbell high school and multi-sport athlete. She is a member of the girls basketball, softball, and cheer teams. Her future plans are to attend Northwest Shoals Community College– Phil Campbell Campus to finish her basics, then transfer to another college to major in pharmacy. Courtney is the daughter of Jarriod and Tonya Baker. Good luck the rest of your senior year, Courtney, keep up the good work!

Gulf Shores Clinic Athlete of the Month, Connor Kendrick.

Connor Kendrick is the January Athlete for the month for the Encore Gulf Shores Clinic. Connor is a 22 year old, left handed pitcher for the Tampa Yankees Minor league team and started therapy at Encore for an SI dysfunction. He was a member of the Auburn University baseball team where he was selected by the New York Yankees in the ninth round of the 2013 first-year player draft. Connor only played one season at Auburn, where he went 5-3, with a 2.13 ERA, and a team-high of 75 strikouts in 80, 1/3 innings as a junior.

Clanton Encore Athlete of the Month, Roberto “Birdie” Abarca.

Congratulations to the Clanton Encore Athlete of the Month, Roberto “Birdie” Abarca! Roberto is 17 years old and plays football for Jemison High School. His positions in football include linebacker/kicker and he enjoys working out for his sport. He has two sibling, Maria Abarca who plays volleyball and basketball for Jemison, and Antonio Abarca who attends Jemison Intermediate school. Roberto plans to attend UAB for law school after he graduates. Keep up the good work, Roberto!

Congratulations to the Arab Encore Athlete of the Month, Steven Clark! Steven is senior, multi-sport athlete from Brindlee Mountain High School.  He plays Offensive and Defensive Line for the Varsity football team, Center for the Varsity basketball team and a thrower for the track team. He has been offered a full ride to Syracuse University as a DT. He has also had offers from USA, UAB, Gerogia Southern, Arkansas State and Troy. Diamondhead Encore Athlete of the Month, Ariel Whavers.

Congratulations to the Diamondhead Clinic Encore Athlete of the Month, Ariel Whavers! Ariel is a senior athlete at Hancock High School in Kiln, MS. She is a guard for the Hawks women’s basketball team (#5) and has been a Dew Elite 16U Division Champion, as well as, received the AAU “Sports for All, Forever” award. Her future plans are to walk-on to a major university basketball team and major in nursing. Good luck this season, Ariel, keep up the good work!
