Hamilton Encore Athlete of the Month, Ben Hood.

 

Congratulations to the Hamilton Encore Athlete of the Month, Ben Hood! Ben is a Senior, multi-sport athlete at Hamilton High School. He is a member of the Baseball and Basketball teams and wears jersey number 24. After graduation, Ben plans to attend a community college, then transfer to Mississippi State University. Congratulations to the Fayette Encore Athlete of the Month, Eric Gurganus! Eric is a Freshman athlete at Berry High School. He is a member of the Football team and wears jersey numbers 16 and 8. After graduation in the spring of 2019, Eric plans to attend the University of Alabama. He is the son of Matthew Bonner. Keep up the good work Eric!

Winfield Encore Athlete of the Month, Julia Taylor.

Congratulations to the Winfield Encore Athlete of the Month, Julia Taylor! Julia is a multi-sport, sophomore athlete at Winfield High School. She has been on the Varsity Track and Cheerleading teams for 3 years now. Julia, along with the Lady Pirates Cheerleading team, has won a 3A State Championship, Regional championship, placed 8th in Nationals, 3rd in Worlds, and Julia has also received the All-County Track Award. After she graduates in 2019, Julia plans to attend college to major in education. She is the daughter of Neil and Paige Taylor. Keep up the good work Julia!

Congratulations to the Hamilton Encore Athlete of the Month, Peyton Woods! Peyton is a Junior multi-sport athlete at Hamilton High School. He has been a member of the Aggies Varsity Basketball and Golf teams for three years now and wears jersey number 11. Peyton has won the All-Area, All-County, All-WAC, and Times Daily Honorable Mention awards during his high school career. After graduation next spring, Peyton plans to attend college to major in secondary education and become a basketball coach. He is the son of Earl and Tanya Woods. Keep up the good work, Peyton, and good luck this coming basketball season!

Diamondhead Encore Athlete of the Month, Makaya Necaise.

Congratulations to the Diamondhead Encore Athlete of the Month, Makaya Necaise! Makaya is an 8th grade multi-sport athlete at Hancock Middle School. She plays on the volleyball, softball, and basketball teams and wears jersey #5 and #14. Makaya has won the 2012 Knockout and Free Throw competition. She wants to attend the University of Alabama and major in nursing. Makaya is the daughter of Miranda Necaise.

Oak Grove Encore Athlete of the Month, Deontae Haynes.

Congratulations to the Oak Grove Encore Athlete of the Month, Deontae Haynes. Deontae was a student athlete at Oak Grove High School. He played Defensive End and Linebacker on the Warriors Football team. During his high school career, he won the Pinebelt Defensive Player of the Year, been on the 2nd team All-State, and received the Bernard-Blackwell All-Star award. Deontae will be attending Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and playing on their Football team! We are proud of you, Deontae!!

West Point Encore Athlete of the Month, Demarrio Edwards.

 

Congratulations to the West Point Encore Athlete of the Month, Demarrio Edwards! Demario is going into his senior year at West Point High School this fall and has played on the Varsity Greenwave football team for two years now. Demarrio has won the MVP Best Offensive Player award and the Best Receiver Award at West Point. Keep up the good work Demarrio! Good luck your senior year!

Winfield Encore Athlete of the Month, Emma Howell.

Congratulations to the Winfield Encore Athlete of the Month, Emma Howell! Emma is a junior, multi-sport athlete at Winfield City High School. She has been on the Softball and Cheer teams for 4 years now and wears jersey number 7. Emma has won All-American Cheerleader 3 years in a row, as well as, Cheerleading State and Regionals multiple years. She has also won a AHSAA State Championship with her Softball team in 2014, and received “Most Stolen Bases” for Marion County for the 2015 season.

After graduation next year, Emma plans to attend the University of Alabama. She is the daughter of Chris and Nancy Inman, and Ronny and Shannon Howell. Good luck your upcoming senior year, Emma!

Congratulations to the Tuscan Avenue Athlete of the Month, Brooke Roberts! Brooke just completed her Junior year at William Carey University in Hattiesburg, MS. She is a member of the Softball team and wears jersey number #27. Brooke has a 3.8 GPA and is majoring in Elementary Education. She is the daughter of Stacy Leboeuf and Todd Roberts.
