There’s something special about seeing one generation of Physical Therapists help prepare the next!

Peyton Young, a DPT student at the University of South Alabama, recently completed her first clinical rotation at Encore Rehabilitation–Semmes, wrapping up her first year of PT school.

Peyton did a fantastic job throughout her rotation, bringing a great attitude, a strong desire to learn, and an enthusiasm for physical therapy that made an impression on our team. We know she has a bright future ahead of her!

Peyton’s Clinical Instructor was Encore Rehabilitation–Semmes Clinic Director Heather McNaughton, PT, DPT.

This summer marks 19 years since Heather graduated as a member of the University of South Alabama’s first DPT class, and she has spent approximately 17 of those years serving as a Clinical Instructor.

We’re proud of Peyton for reaching this milestone and grateful for clinicians like Heather who continue to invest their time and experience in the next generation of Physical Therapists! Thank you, Heather!

We are looking for a passionate, self-motivated, and team-oriented Physical Therapist to help patients improve balance and gait stability through a sensory-balance approach.

What This Position Offers:

• One-on-one patient sessions with 40-minute appointments

• Mentorship with a clinically certified vestibular specialist with a neurological rehabilitation background

• Specialized equipment including the SoloStep Overhead Harness, Virtualis VR System, Bioness Integrative Therapy System (BITS), NeuroCom Balance Master, and Vestibular First infrared goggles

• Opportunity to develop advanced vestibular rehabilitation knowledge and skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive evaluations and create evidence-based plans of care for patients with multifactorial balance conditions

• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team

Qualifications:

• Licensed Physical Therapist in Mississippi

• Strong interest or experience in neurological rehabilitation

• New graduates with strong neurological clinical internships are welcome

Meet Justin Hargett, PT, DPT, Industrial Rehab Leader with Encore Rehabilitation, Inc.

Meet Justin Hargett, PT, DPT, Regional Director of Operations for Encore Rehabilitation North Alabama/Northwest Alabama. Justin has been with Encore for 12 years, serving as Clinical Director at multiple clinics across the region while helping lead operations and clinical excellence across Encore’s Industrial Rehab programs.

Justin holds certifications in post-offer employment testing and ergonomics through WorkSteps and Atlas Ergonomics. He is trained in McKenzie lumbar and cervical spine techniques as well as being certified in dry needling. He brings a strong foundation in manual therapy, orthopedic rehabilitation, and sports performance training.

He earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy from Alabama State University and his Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Auburn University, where he was also a four-year letterman in baseball.

Justin’s work focuses heavily on industrial rehabilitation testing, functional recovery, and sports and orthopedic rehab, ensuring patients receive high-level, evidence-based care individually tailored to successful return-to-work and performance outcomes.

Jason earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He is also trained in Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs) and impairment ratings, providing valuable expertise in return-to-work planning and workers’ compensation cases. His clinical and consulting work includes ergonomic assessments, post-offer employment testing, and injury prevention and treatment services for regional industries.

Jason has also served as Director of Rehabilitation for a local hospital and was the owner of a private practice for 14 years, bringing both operational leadership and hands-on clinical expertise to his role. What truly sets Tanieka apart is her willingness to work alongside the team.
