Meet Elizabeth Bridges, PT, DPT, Clinic Director for Encore Rehabilitation-Saraland

Please join us in celebrating Elizabeth Bridges, PT, DPT, and her leadership as Clinic Director of Encore Rehabilitation – Saraland!

Since joining the Encore Rehab Team in 2021, Elizabeth has been dedicated to helping patients move better, feel stronger, and get back to doing the things they love most! Her passion for personalized care and long-term recovery shines through in every patient interaction.

Elizabeth earned her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from the University of South Alabama and her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from William Carey University. She is certified in vestibular and concussion rehabilitation as well as dry needling.

Elizabeth especially enjoys treating sports and orthopedic injuries, vestibular and balance disorders, and concussions, while also helping patients through blood flow restriction therapy and return-to-sport rehabilitation.

Encore Rehabilitation-Opelika is thrilled to welcome Tamara Sheppard to the clinic as she completes her PTA clinical rotation with our team. Tamara brings an incredible depth of experience, dedication, and passion for helping others, and we are honored to be part of her journey toward becoming a Physical Therapist Assistant!

At 52, Tamara exemplifies lifelong learning and service. As a proud mother, grandmother, military spouse, former United States Army civilian employee, and highly accomplished fitness and exercise professional, she brings a unique perspective and wealth of knowledge to patient care.

Tamara holds a degree in Exercise Science and has earned certifications as a Fitness Trainer, Corrective Exercise Specialist, Sports Nutrition Specialist, and Strength and Conditioning Coach — achievements that reflect years of hard work, dedication, and commitment to helping others improve their health and performance.

Driven by a passion for restoring movement and improving quality of life, Tamara is currently pursuing her next chapter as a Physical Therapist Assistant at South University, where she is expected to graduate in September 2026.

Her mission to combine military experience, scientific knowledge, and coaching expertise to help individuals move better, recover stronger, and live healthier lives aligns perfectly with the values we strive to uphold every day at Encore.

At Encore Rehabilitation, we deeply value the opportunity to mentor future healthcare professionals. Effective Industrial Rehab goes beyond treatment — it requires a deep understanding of workplace demands, injury prevention, and the functional needs of employees across a wide range of industries.

Meet Marna Hallman, PT, Regional Director for Encore Rehabilitation. A graduate of the University of South Alabama, Marna brings more than 32 years of experience as a licensed Physical Therapist in outpatient orthopedic and industrial rehabilitation settings.

Throughout her career, Marna has specialized in job analysis, development of functional job descriptions, worksite assessments, and post-offer employment testing. She has worked closely with employers to develop programs focused on employee safety, injury prevention, and successful return-to-work outcomes.

As a Regional Director with Encore, Marna oversees clinical operations while ensuring high standards of care across multiple locations.

Known for her collaborative approach and deep understanding of the physical demands of various occupations, Marna has become a trusted partner for both patients and industry clients. She remains passionate about bridging the gap between rehabilitation and the workplace—helping individuals recover, stay active, and perform their best on the job.

Christina Barry is truly a Spotlight Patient! Following hip surgery, Christina committed herself fully to both Physical Therapy and her home exercise program over the course of several months.

Through hard work, consistency, and determination, she is now discharging as a ROCKSTAR and returning to full-time teaching along with the social and recreational activities she enjoys!

Tanieka Cope, DPT, was nominated for the BEE Award at USA Health in recognition of the incredible teamwork and collaboration she brings to our unit as a Physical Therapist and we are so proud of her!

Tanieka plays a vital role in helping our patient regain strength, independence, and confidence. She works closely with the nursing staff and other members of the care team to ensure that each patient receives the best possible support throughout their recovery. Her communication and collaboration make a meaningful difference in the care we provide every day.

What truly sets Tanieka apart is her willingness to work alongside the team. She is always approachable, always ready to discuss patient needs, and always focused on finding the best plan to help patients succeed. She understands that great patient outcomes happen when everyone works together, and she consistently makes that teamwork a priority.

Tanieka also brings encouragement and positivity to the patients under her care. She motivates them to push a little further, stand a little stronger, and believe in their progress. Many patients are hesitant or discouraged when it comes time for therapy, but Tanieka has a way of supporting and encouraging them, so they feel capable and safe during the process.

Just like the name of this award suggests, Tanieka is a true collaborator within our healthcare facility. Her partnership with nursing and the rest of the interdisciplinary team helps keep patient care moving forward in the best possible direction. Her teamwork, dedication, and commitment to our patients make her an invaluable part of our care team.

Nathan introduces himself in his own words: “My name is Nathan McDaniel. I was born and raised in Enterprise, Alabama. I attended school at Wallace Community College in Dothan where I graduated in 2020 as a Physical Therapist Assistant. I live in Auburn with my girlfriend and our two dogs, where I enjoy reading comics, playing video games on the weekends, cooking, and going for walks at some of the many parks in my area.”
