Happy National Physical Therapy Month to Carol Haag, PT!

Carol grew up in Alabama and attended Auburn University. She graduated from Physical Therapy School at the University of South Alabama. She has been a licensed Physical Therapist in Alabama and Florida for 44 years!

Carol has had opportunities to work in outpatient orthopedic clinics, acute care settings, inpatient rehab stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, skilled nursing care, and home health. She has helped coach wheelchair track and field teams and wheelchair basketball. She has provided service to the MS Society and the MDA in addition to being a part of Camp Assca during its first two years of operation.

Carol presently lives on Gantt Lake in Covington County. She enjoys fishing and water activities with her husband and grandchildren while being active in her local church.

Niva is a Tennessee native who graduated from Lipscomb University (formerly David Lipscomb College) and the University of South Alabama’s Physical Therapy Program. During her physical therapy career, she had the opportunity of working in many patient care settings with all age groups. She was privileged to teach physical therapist assistant students for 10 years.

Currently, she is working part-time in the office and as a support person for Encore Rehabilitation-Andalusia. Thank you, Niva, for everything you’ve done and continue to do! We LOVE having you with us in the Encore Rehab family!

Hope Hicks began as a clinical student at Andalusia Health. After graduating Summa Cum Laude from Wallace Community College, she began working as a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant.

While working at the hospital, she gained experience in pediatrics, KT taping, and outpatient care. She has special interests in Sports Medicine and Women’s Health where she is continuing to gain further education and experience.

Hope and her husband, Eric, have 2 children.

Jordan received his undergraduate degree in Exercise and Sport Science from The University of Alabama and completed his Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences with a focus on Orthopedic and Manual Therapy. He also received certification in dry needling from the Dry Needling Institute.

He has worked as a Clinical Director with Encore Rehabilitation, Inc. for six years in Luverne, Andalusia, and Opp clinics while managing outpatient, inpatient, and home health settings. Jordan currently practices as a Physical Therapist and Clinic Director Encore Rehabilitation-Opp, Alabama.

In his free time, Jordan enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, and fishing.

Mya Stewart is Athlete of the Month for #EncoreRehab Foley

Congratulations to Mya Stewart! She has been selected Athlete of the Month for Encore Rehabilitation-Foley!

Mya is a Junior at Foley High School, where she competes in Cross Country, Track, and Soccer. She has been selected Most Outstanding Runner and Most Improved Runner. Her future plans include graduating from Auburn University with a degree in Veterinarian Medicine.

Mya likes to spend her free time running, swimming, helping people, and playing instruments.

Mya is the daughter of Natasha Wiggins and Shane Stewart.

Celebrating National Physical Therapy Month with Trip Garner, PT, ATC, MBA, Cert. DN!

Trip has been with Encore Rehabilitation for almost five years as the Regional Director of Central/East Alabama. Encore Rehabilitation clinics in his area include Opelika, Andalusia, Eufaula, Phenix City, Pike Road, and Reeltown.

Trip grew up in Opelika, attended Opelika High and did his undergraduate training at Mississippi College where he ran Track/Cross Country. He attended Georgia State for Physical Therapy School and then acquired his MBA at Auburn University of Montgomery. He is a Nationally Certified Athletic Trainer and is also Certified in Dry Needling.

Trip enjoys helping his patients overcome their fears and return to the activities they enjoy- as independently as possible.

He and his wife, Tamera, have three children and a son-in-law. When he isn’t working, Trip can be found with his family, serving with his church, running, biking or swimming.
