Gordo Encore Athlete of the Month, Patrick Manning.

Congratulations to the Gordo Encore Athlete of the Month, Patrick Manning! Patrick is a rising senior and multi-sport athlete at Gordo High School. He has been a member of the Greenwave Varsity Football and Basketball teams for 3 years and wears jersey #3. Patrick has won the Defensie Back of the Year 2 times, Running Back of the Year, and chosen for All-State. He currently has a 3.4 GPA and plans to attend college to major in business and play football. Patrick is the son of Samara and Patrick Manning.

Oak Grove Encore Athlete of the Month, Deontae Haynes.

Congratulations to the Oak Grove Encore Athlete of the Month, Deontae Haynes. Deontae was a student athlete at Oak Grove High School. He played Defensive End and Linebacker on the Warriors Football team. During his high school career, he won the Pinebelt Defensive Player of the Year, been on the 2nd team All-State, and received the Bernard-Blackwell All-Star award. Deontae will be attending Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and playing on their Football team! We are proud of you, Deontae!!

West Point Encore Athlete of the Month, Demarrio Edwards.

 

Congratulations to the West Point Encore Athlete of the Month, Demarrio Edwards! Demario is going into his senior year at West Point High School this fall and has played on the Varsity Greenwave football team for two years now. Demarrio has won the MVP Best Offensive Player award and the Best Receiver Award at West Point. Keep up the good work Demarrio! Good luck your senior year!

Arab Encore Athlete of the Month, Benjamin Clark.

Congratulations to the Arab Encore Athlete of the Month, Benjamin Clark! Ben is a multi- sport, sophomore, athlete at Brindlee Mountain High School. He has played on the Varsity Baseball and Football teams for 3 and 2 years respectively and wears jerseys #5 and #72. He has won the All-County Football award and the Gavin Brooks Award. Benjamin is the son of Johnny and Kim Clark.

Monroeville Encore Athlete of the Month, Lane Powell.

Congratulations to the Monroeville Encore Athlete of the Month, Lane Powell! Lane is a junior multi-sport athlete at Monroe Academy. He has been playing varsity football and baseball for 3 years now and wears jersey number 8. Lane has been coming to our clinic for physical therapy on his arm. He chose Encore because of his good relationship with our PT, Matt Moorer, and past experiences.

Lane hasn’t let his injury stop him from working and striving to become a better athlete– he just received his first college scholarship offer to play baseball and is waiting to see others offers to make a college choice.  Keep up the good work, Lane! Proud of you!!

Congratulations to the Gordo Encore Athlete of the Month, Anthony Brown! Anthony is a senior, multi-sport athlete at Aliceville High School. He has been a member of the varsity football and basketball teams for 4 years now. You can find him on the field wearing jersey # 52 and on the court wearing jersey #4. Anthony has won Mr. Basketball, Defensive lineman of the year, and 2x All-County Football Team. After graduation, Anthony plans to attend Mississippi Valley State University and major in Engineering. He is the son of Melissa and Anthony Brown, Sr.

Cullman Encore Athlete of the Month, Tyler Rice.

Congratulations to the Cullman Encore Athlete of the Month, Tyler Rice! Tyler is a Senior, multi-sport athlete at Cold Springs High School in Bremen, AL. He has played Baseball for 6 years, Basketball for 4 years, and Football for 2 years. You’ll find him wearing jersey numbers 17 and 11. Tyler came to us after he tore his right and left ACL in a spring game last year. He wasn’t able to play any football this past season; however, for his Football senior night game, they let him dress out and play for one snap. Then last  December, he got cleared to play baseball.

His hard work has payed off and he has quite a few sports awards, including the Baseball All-County award for the past 3 years and the All-Area award, Basketball Area Championship for the past 3 years and the County Championship awards, as well as the Football All-County award. After Tyler graduates, he plans to attend Wallace State for 2 years and then transfer to UAB to become a nurse practitioner. We’re proud of you Tyler!

Vernon Encore Athlete of the Month, Isaac Whittle.

Congratulations to the Vernon Encore Athlete of the Month, Isaac Whittle!

Isaac is a freshman, multi-sport athlete from Lamar County High School. He has been a member of the football, basketball, baseball and track teams for 3 years now and wears jersey number 22. His sports awards consist of All-County Football, WAC- Football Offensive player of the Week, and Bulldog Athlete of the Week. After he graduates in 2019, he plans to attend UNA for 2 years and then transfer to University of Alabama to major in Physical Therapy. Isaac is the son of Tony and Janet Allen.

Gulf Shores High School’s AD thanks Encore ATCs, Camille Forte and Lee Steiner.

“A high school parent returned some crutches to me that their son had to use after he injured his hip.  He really was appreciative of [our ATC] Camille Forte and the way she not only took care of his son, but also the way she handled the situation and relayed information to him.  He also expressed his thankfulness to the fact that we have a sports medicine team in place here and how well it worked.  I would also like to brag on Camille and the job she is doing and show my appreciation to her, Lee, Encore and the orthopedic group/Doctors for what we have in place.  I can still remember when us coaches did all the sports medicine routines-

Let’s just say we are in much better hands now!”

Congratulations to the Arab Encore Athlete of the Month, James King! James is a Senior, multi-sport athlete at Brindlee Mountain High School in Guntersville, AL. He is a member of the football, basketball, golf, and track teams. James has played on varsity for 4 years and wears jersey number 55. He has qualified for the sub-state award in golf and plans to attend Missouri Valley College on golf scholarship while pursuing a degree in Athletic Training. James is the son of Todd King and Michelle Franks.
