Occupational Therapist Mary Scalisi with Encore Rehabilitation-Dothan

“I’m Mary Scalisi, an Occupational Therapist at Encore Rehabilitation-Dothan. I specialize in hand therapy, and I am working towards getting my CHT. I grew up in a Birmingham, AL. I graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences and graduated from UAB with a Masters in Occupational Therapy. I am an Occupational Therapist with Encore Rehabilitation-Dothan. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, spending time with friends and family, playing with my puppy, Luna, and making my coworkers decorate and dress up for each holiday.”

Eian and Ethan Coachman are Athletes of the Month for Encore Rehabilitation-Dothan

Encore Rehabiliation-Dothan is happy to announce our first siblings as Athletes of the Month!

Eian Coachman is a Junior, multi-sport athlete who competes in Football, Basketball, and Track & Field for the Houston Academy Raiders. His future plans include going to Auburn to major in computer engineering. In his spare time, he enjoys playing sports, hanging out with his family and friends, volunteering at the Humane Society, and playing the playstation.

After an injury playing football, Eian had surgery to repair his shoulder. His surgeon recommended physical therapy for continued treatment after his surgery. He said, “I chose Encore because the therapists here are amazing. Also, my Athletic Trainer, Kayla Woods, is an employee of Encore.”

Ethan Coachman is a Sophomore, multi-sport athlete who competes in Football, Basketball, and Tack & Field for the Houston Academy Raiders. His future plans include playing football for Auburn University. In his spare time, he enjoys playing football, fishing, hanging out with family and friends, and going to the beach or lake.

After tearing cartilage in his knee while playing football, Ethan had surgery on his knee. He said, “We chose Encore because the Physical Therapists at Encore are the best! Everyone is just simply amazing. Also, my Athletic Trainer, Kayla, works here and we trust her 100%!“

Eian and Ethan are the sons of Emmanuel and Tara Coachman.

“My name is Lillie Morgan. I am a graduate of Troy University with a Bachelors in Athletic Training. I have been with Encore Rehabilitation since 2018. My favorite part of my job is getting the opportunity to invest in the lives of my athletes and their families. I enjoy watching them succeed in athletics, and helping them overcome and push through whatever obstacles may come their way. I enjoy spending time with my family and going to the beach. Joyce Alexander is Patient of the Month for Encore Rehabilitation-Dothan

“My name is Shea Howell, and I am an Athletic Trainer with Encore Rehabilitation. I received a Bachelor’s of Science in Athletic Training Degree from Troy University in 2012. I have been an Athletic Trainer for nine years now. What I love most about my job is being on the sidelines and helping take care of my athlete if they are injured. I also enjoy being with them on the journey they take to return to play. I provide coverage for several schools such as Dothan Preparatory Academy, Cottonwood High School, and Daleville High School. I enjoy spending time with my family including my boyfriend and our two children. In my free time, I enjoy traveling with my family, watching movies, being with my family and with our dog, Diesel.”

Kale Williams is Occupational Therapy Patient of the Month for Encore Rehabilitation-Dothan

Say hello to Kale Williams, Occupational Therapy Patient of the Month for Encore Rehabilitation-Dothan!

Kale chose Encore Rehabilitation after his surgeon recommended Occupational Therapy for ongoing medical care after he had surgery to repair a cut tendon in his finger. Kale said, “I liked the different therapy equipment, especially the digiflex which is also known as the ‘guitar toy’.” After several months of therapy, he is progressing well and we are so proud of his progress!

Douglas Dennis is Physical Therapy Patient of the Month for Encore Rehabilitation-Dothan

Say hello to Douglas Dennis, Physical Therapy Patient of the Month for Encore Rehabilitation-Dothan!

After having a second knee replacement in August of 2020, Mr. Dennis started physical therapy for strengthening in order to be able to walk on his own again without assisted devices. He chose Encore Rehabilitation for his Physical Therapy because of his familiarity with the facility and the Physical Therapists.

After a couple months of therapy, he is progressing well and getting back to doing the things he loves. We are proud of your progress, Mr. Dennis, and we are glad to have you as our Physical Therapy Patient of the Month!
