Clinical Director Julia Krahm, DPT, with Encore Rehabilitation-Phenix City

Encore Rehabilitation-Phenix City is pleased to introduce our Clinical Director Julia Krahm, DPT, Cert. DN!

Julia received her bachelor’s degree from Furman University and her Masters of Exercise Physiology from the University of Louisville. She then achieved her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the American International College. Julia’s focus is primarily in Orthopedics and sports injuries. In addition to traditional exercises, she uses a variety of manual techniques and has a specialty Certification in Dry Needling.

Julia grew up in Marietta, Georgia but spent some time shivering in Massachusetts before she decided to head back South and now lives in Auburn, Alabama.

We are pleased to have Julia at Encore Rehabilitation-Phenix City!

Meet Chad Abrams – Regional Athletic Trainer Manager for Encore Rehabilitation-Opelika

Regional Athletic Trainer Manager Chad Abrams, ATC. #EncoreRehab

Encore Rehabilitation-Opelika is pleased to introduce Chad Abrams, Regional Athletic Trainer Manager for Encore Rehabilitation. 

Chad is a Certified Athletic Trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist, with over 35 years experience. A native of Notasulga, Alabama, he received both his Bachelor of Science and his Masters of Health Promotion from Auburn University. He has served as the Athletic Trainer for Reeltown High School for 36 years. Currently he manages the Sports Medicine Coverage for Glenwood, Beauregard, Smiths Stations, and Reeltown High Schools.

In his free time, Chad enjoys the art of fabrication and the creative process. He is also a board member of the Reeltown Volunteer Fire Dept. He plans to participate in NASCAR’s driving experience program one day.

Welcome to Sarah Mitchell, Front Office Coordinator at Encore Rehabilitation-Opelika!

Sarah is the smiling face that greets you as you walk through the doors to the Opelika Clinic and the bright voice you will hear whenever you call.

Sarah is originally from Talladega, home of NASCAR’s Talladega Superspeedway. She says she is often asked if one should attend a NACAR race or not.  Her advice? “If you’ve never been to a NASCAR race, go experience it at least once. It’s one of a kind!”

She is a graduate of Munford High School and Auburn University where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Services Administration.

Sarah enjoys traveling and plans to visit Netherlands and Belgium for her first time this year. She also enjoys gardening, interior design/decorating, swimming, and hiking with her boyfriend, John. Sarah is delighted to be an aunt to Lula Tate.

with a Pink Out Day!

“Breast cancer is the most common kind of cancer in women after skin cancer. About 1 in 8 women born today in the United States will get breast cancer at some point. The good news is that most women can survive breast cancer if it’s found and treated early.

“If you are a woman age 40 to 49, talk with your doctor about when to start getting mammograms and how often to get them. If you are a woman age 50 to 74, be sure to get a mammogram every 2 years. You may also choose to get them more often.

“Breast cancer may also occur in men. Breast cancer may occur in men at any age, but it usually occurs in men between 60 and 70 years of age.

“Talk to a doctor about your risk for breast cancer, especially if a close family member of yours had breast or ovarian cancer. Your doctor can help you decide when and how often to get mammograms.” **
