The Dothan Eagle Super 12 banquet was held January 18 at Flowers Hospital. This is an awards banquet to honor local high school athletes in football, volleyball, and cross-country. Southern Bone & Joint Specialists and Encore Rehabilitation, Inc. sponsored the banquet. The guest speaker was Austin Johnson, a member of the University of Alabama Football Team and former quarterback for Elba High School.

Welcome to our new Clinic Director -Justin Hargett, PT, DPT, Cert. DN!
Justin has been a clinician with Encore Rehabilitation for four years. He earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Alabama State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Auburn University. He also holds a certification in Dry Needling.
Justin’s focus is a patient-centered hands-on approach for the purpose of treating a wide variety of orthopedic and neuromusculoskeletal disorders. Justin emphasizes manual therapy techniques including spinal manipulation in order to assist patients in returning to pain-free, functional, recreational, and work-related activites.
Justin is the co-author of the article “The Use of Diagnostic Ultrasound in Determining Fifth Metatarsal Fractures” which was published in two orthopedic sports medicine journals and recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association-APTA at the 2013 National Physical Therapy Convention. He believes strongly in continuing education and mentoring his staff in order to provide the highest quality of care for his community.
Justin is a native of Hartselle, Alabama. Justin and his wife, Jessica, have two kids, Abby and Truett.

Madison Harbison has been selected as Athlete of the Month for Vinemont High School and Encore Rehabilitation – Cullman!
Madison is a Senior and enjoys playing Volleyball, Basketball, and Softball for the Eagles. After graduation, she plans to pursue a Nursing Degree at Wallace State Community College.
Madison is the daughter of Mark and Shannan Harbison.

Amanda Royal loves being a Physical Therapist Assistant! Her favorite part of her work is helping people return to an active lifestyle. Amanda says, “The reward is when your patients cry and hug you and tell you ‘thank you for helping me walk again!’ This job is rewarding in so many ways, it’s almost hard to describe, but knowing I’m making a difference in this world through physical therapy is all I ever wanted.”
Making a difference is something Amanda also does away from her daily career. Amanda serves as a US Navy Reservist. She recently completed A School Training as a Hospital Corpsman at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, where she was on the Dean’s List.
Encore Rehabilitation-Foley is very proud of Amanda for serving the Foley community and in the US Navy Reserve!


Meet Christian Peterson – a Senior at Saint Bernard Preparatory School and Athlete of the Month for Saint Bernard’s and Encore Rehabilitation-Cullman!
Christian plays varsity Basketball, Soccer, Track, and Baseball for the Saints. When not participating in sports, Christian enjoys spending time with his friends. He is the son of Meg and Pete Peterson.

Recovery from surgery can be challenging. Just ask Heather Bland. She was recently recovering from rotator cuff and bicep tendon repair surgery. A friend recommended she go to Encore Rehabilitation-Montgomery East for her physical therapy.
Heather tells about her rehabilitation at Encore: “Tyson and Lauren have helped me work on rehabbing my shoulder after surgery. My surgeon was impressed at how well I was able to move my shoulder just weeks later.”

Griffin Morris-Holly Pond Athlete of the Month with Gage Brewer, ATC, Encore Rehabilitation-Cullman
Senior Griffin Morris of Holly Pond High School has been chosen as Athlete of the Month for Encore Rehabilitation-Cullman!
Griffin plays Basketball (#12) for the Broncos. He has been named All-County and twice he has been selected for All-Area for Basketball. Griffin has been on the Varsity team for three years.
Way to go, Griffin! We wish you a fantastic senior year!

A huge shoutout to Maurice Hicks of Enterprise High School for being named Athlete of the Month for Encore Rehabilitation – Enterprise!
Maurice is a Junior and plays Football (#3) for the Wildcats! When not on the field playing his favorite sport, he likes to play games on the Xbox. His post-graduate plans include playing college football while earning his Law Enforcement degree.
Maurice is the son of Maurice Hicks, Sr., and Giselle Noa.
