“I have been battling cancer for over 5 years and have had it in my bones. I fractured my left femur in a fall in 2019 and had a rod put in, but fell again in June of 2020 and fractured myself again as well as breaking the metal rod, probably related to the prior bone cancer radiation. At UAB, where the second surgery was done to remove all original hardware and replace it with new and stronger hardware, they recommended inpatient rehab and extensive physical therapy. I chose not to go to inpatient rehab mainly due to COVID-19, but asked for Physical Therapy in Dothan. UAB set me up with highly-rated outpatient facility in Dothan, Encore Rehabilitation – Dothan, and they’re wonderful! Say hello to Ms. Tina Johnson, Occupational Therapy Patient of the Month for Encore Rehabilitation-Dothan!
Ms. Tina experienced an injury to her wrist and elbow after a fall at her home in April. About a month after surgery, her doctor recommended therapy for continued treatment and she chose Encore Rehabilitation.
Ms. Tina says, “I have been a patient at Encore previously and got excellent care. After I was told I was ready for physical therapy and was asked my selection of places, I once again chose Encore. I worked with Mary (Occupational Therapist) and she was such a blessing. She is so kind, so encouraging, and so knowledgeable and so professional but with so much warmth and concern. Each session, there was positive encouragement and results. I am impressed and blessed by the awesome, loving care I have received at Encore now and in the past few years. There is nothing more rewarding when you are hurt and feeling desperate than to have people show love, concern, caring, and to give the gift of restoring quality of life back. I am blessed.”

Congratulations to Cody Clark, Athlete of the Month for Encore Rehabilitation-Dothan!
Cody is a recent graduate of Wallace Community College. He played Baseball for the Govs for the last two years and earned NJCAA All Academic 2nd Team Honors and College Rookie of the Year. He received the Top Gun Award and Gold Glove Award in high school for the Dothan Tigers. His future plans include playing baseball at Huntington University this fall. He plans to pursue a degree in Physical Education and Sports Management. In his spare time, he enjoys playing baseball and working out.
