Emersyn Reid Celebrates National Prematurity Awareness Month

In observance of National Prematurity Awareness Month, Encore Pediatric Department of Cullman would like to honor our patients and families affected by preterm births!

Meet Emersyn! She was born at 24 weeks gestation and is currently 1 year old. She receives Occupational, Physical, and Speech Therapy Services with Encore Rehabilitation-Cullman. Emersyn loves her dancing Elmo toy, playing music on her iPad, her blankets and pacifier, and her dog, Thor.

Emersyn’s family says, “She is such a fighter! And we love all the therapists at Encore; they have been great with her!”

We are so proud of Emersyn! Happy National Prematurity Awareness Month to Emersyn and her family!

Colby is a Junior at Macon East Academy where he competes in Football and Baseball for the Knights. He has been selected to the AISA All-Metro Team. His hobbies include playing sports and watching movies. His future plans include pursuing a degree in Physical Therapy from The University of South Alabama.

Colby is the son of Pam Cox and Rodney Cox.

In observance of National Prematurity Awareness Month, Encore Rehabilitation-Cullman would like to honor our patients and families affected by preterm births!

Introducing Ava Woods! She was born at 25 weeks gestation but is now 4 years old. She receives Occupational and Speech Therapy Services at Encore Rehabilitation-Cullman. Ava loves to play ball, dance, cook in her kitchen, and sing!

Ava’s family says, “Ava has came a long way and we are so proud of her! Speech and Occupational Therapy has been the best thing for her, to help her come out of her little shell. The staff has been so wonderful and very helpful. We can’t thank them enough!”

Uriah is a Senior and multi-sport athlete at Marion County High School where she competes in Cheer, Track, Softball, and Basketball. She has been named to All-County and All-Conference (NAC) for Track. She enjoys binge watching Grey’s Anatomy, Netflix, and horror movies, as well as hanging out with friends and family. She plans to pursue a career in Physical Therapy.

Uriah is the daughter of Freda Allman and Chris Moore.

East Lake Physical Therapy and Encore Rehabilitation are pleased to present Mark Young as the Athlete of the Month for Ocean Springs High School and East Lake Physical Therapy and Sports Rehabilitation!

Mark is a Junior at Ocean Springs High School​ where he has been in the OSHS Blue Grey Pride​ Marching Band for the last 3 years. He was selected by his peers as the Most Enthusiastic Person in the Blue Grey Pride Marching Band in 2017. Mark holds himself to high academic standards and he plans to attend college for a Pre-Medical Degree, then to go on to Medical School. Mark has endured multiple surgeries and physical therapy over the years and nothing ever gets him down. He always presses forward and gives everything he does 110% effort!

Mark is the son of Bettina and Christopher Young of Ocean Springs.

Congratulations Mark! Have a great remainder of your Junior year and best of luck with your future plans!
