Winfield Encore Athlete of the Month, Braden Pyron.

Congratulations to the Winfield Encore Athlete of the Month, Braden Pyron! Braden is a sophomore, multi-sport athlete at Marion County High School. He has been a member of the varsity Football, Basketball, Baseball and Track teams for 4 years now and wears jersey #2, #5, and #25. During his 4 year athletic career, Braden has wracked up quite an impressive amount of awards:

Football: 2x All State Football, 2x All-Conference, 2x All-State 2x All-County

Basketball: NW Region All Tournament, All-County, 2x All Conference, Final Four

Baseball: 3x All-County Honorary Mention

Track: All-County track, 2x All-Conference, 2x All-Sectional, 2x All-State, and a State Championship.

Braden will graduate in the class of 2019 and has a 4.0 GPA. He is the son of Blaine and Valarie Pyron.

Congratulations to the Winfield Encore Athlete of the Month, Caleb Wilson! Caleb is a Junior at Winfield City High School and is a member of the Football and Track teams. He has played on the Varsity teams for 3 years now and wears jersey #53. After he graduates from high school, Caleb plans to attend Auburn University and major in Physical Therapy. He is the son of Janice Nichols.

Winfield Encore Athlete of the Month, Garrett Cooper!

Congratulations to the Winfield Encore Athlete of the Month, Garrett Cooper! Garrett is a senior athlete at Marion County High School. He is a member of the Track and Cross Country team and has ran on varsity for 6 years. Garrett has won the Track All-County, award, All-Section award, All-State Pole Vault, and 2nd and 3rd place in pole vault at the State Indoor track meet! After college, Garrett plans to attend the University of Alabama to study Architectural Engineering. He is the son of David and Joy Cooper.

Winfield Encore Athlete of the Month, Julia Taylor.

Congratulations to the Winfield Encore Athlete of the Month, Julia Taylor! Julia is a multi-sport, sophomore athlete at Winfield High School. She has been on the Varsity Track and Cheerleading teams for 3 years now. Julia, along with the Lady Pirates Cheerleading team, has won a 3A State Championship, Regional championship, placed 8th in Nationals, 3rd in Worlds, and Julia has also received the All-County Track Award. After she graduates in 2019, Julia plans to attend college to major in education. She is the daughter of Neil and Paige Taylor. Keep up the good work Julia!

Congratulations to the Vernon Encore Athlete of the Month, Isaac Whittle!

Isaac is a freshman, multi-sport athlete from Lamar County High School. He has been a member of the football, basketball, baseball and track teams for 3 years now and wears jersey number 22. His sports awards consist of All-County Football, WAC- Football Offensive player of the Week, and Bulldog Athlete of the Week. After he graduates in 2019, he plans to attend UNA for 2 years and then transfer to University of Alabama to major in Physical Therapy. Isaac is the son of Tony and Janet Allen.

Congratulations to the Arab Encore Athlete of the Month, James King! James is a Senior, multi-sport athlete at Brindlee Mountain High School in Guntersville, AL. He is a member of the football, basketball, golf, and track teams. James has played on varsity for 4 years and wears jersey number 55. He has qualified for the sub-state award in golf and plans to attend Missouri Valley College on golf scholarship while pursuing a degree in Athletic Training. James is the son of Todd King and Michelle Franks.

Hamilton Athletes of the Month, Brady Stults and Cole Reed.

Congratulations to the Hamilton Encore Athletes of the Month, Brady Stults and Cole Reed! Both students are multi-sport athlete from Hamilton High School.

Brady Stults is a Junior with a 4.1 GPA. She has played Varsity Softball and Basketball for 5 and 3 years respectively. A few of her sports awards consist of All-Area softball 2014, 2014-2015 Basketball Defensive Player, 2014-2015 Hustle award in Basketball, All WAC Basketball 2015-2016, and 2012-2013 All-County Softball. After she graduates high school, she plans to attend a 4 year university and major in the medical field. Brady is the daughter of Joey and Lisa Stults.

Cole Reed is a Sophomore with a 4.2 GPA. He has been a member of the Varsity Football, Baseball, Basketball, and Track teams for a year and a half now. He wears jersey number 9 in Football and Baseball, and number 23 in Basketball. His sports awards consist of the All WAC, All-County, and the Times Daily 4A-7A Big Play Award in Football. After graduation, he plans to attend college to major in engineering. Cole is the son of Mike and Michelle Reed.

Tuscan Avenue Encore Athlete of the Month, Ariel Jones.

Congratulations to the Tuscan Avenue Encore Athlete of the Month, Ariel Jones! Ariel is a Freshman at William Carey University in Mississippi. She has been a member of the Lady Crusaders Cross Country and Track teams for a year now. Ariel has also been awarded the Runner of the week award. She has a 3.0 GPA and is majoring in nursing.

She is the daughter of Duane and Louise Jones.

East Central Athlete of the Month, Dexter Simmons.

Congratulations to the East Central Athlete of the Month, Dexter Simmons! Dexter is a Senior at East Central high School in Mississippi. He is a multi-sport athlete who has played Varsity Football, Basketball, and Track for 3 years. He wears the jersey numbers 16 and 20. Dexter has a 4.0 GPA and plans to attend college to major in accounting, and minor in mathematics and coaching. He is the son of Stacy and Deidra Simmons.

Arab Encore Athlete of the Month, Steven Clark.

Congratulations to the Arab Encore Athlete of the Month, Steven Clark! Steven is senior, multi-sport athlete from Brindlee Mountain High School. He plays Offensive and Defensive Line for the Varsity football team, Center for the Varsity basketball team and a thrower for the track team. He has been offered a full ride to Syracuse University as a DT. He has also had offers from USA, UAB, Gerogia Southern, Arkansas State and Troy. Good Luck you last year in high school, Steven, keep up the good work!
