Rick Hoadley loves to be active: cycling, walking, martial arts! So when he suffered a shoulder injury and had to have a knee replacement, it was important to him to become active again.
Rick chose Encore Rehabilitation-Tillman’s Corner to be his rehab provider. He says, “Encore Rehab has an excellent staff. They use a scientific and methodical approach to therapy, one that is very gradual and encouraging and also gets results.” Rick has regained use of his knee and can do all the things he missed! He is back to being active and has returned to taekwondo training again.
Congratulations, Rick, from all your friends at Encore Rehabilitation-Tillman’s Corner!

As we celebrate Day 2 of Balance Awareness Week, we want to highlight some of the factors that can affect your balance.
First, your brain must process the sensory information it receives from your body. If you have dealt with a neurological such as a stroke, concussion, or Parkinson’s disease, your ability to process the information may be impaired. The brain receives this information from visual input (what you are seeing), somatosensory input (what you are feeling and sensing in your environemt), and vestibular input (motion, equilibrium and spatial orientation).

Pat received her Bachelor of Physical Therapy from the University of South Alabama and has 33 years of clinical experience as a Physical Therapist. In November, 2016, she became a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) through Klose Training and worked full-time for one year as a CLT in the Lymphedema Clinic at Cox Health in Springfield, Missouri. This training and experience has established Pat as an expert in lymphedema treatment.
Pat has now returned to northwest Alabama to provide lymphedema services to patients suffering with lymphedema and edema symptoms.
Lymphedema and edema affects a large number of people and can be effectively treated by a Certified Lymphedema Therapist using Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT) techniques which include patient & family education, exercise, skin care, manual lymphatic drainage, short stretch bandages, and garments.
If you could benefit from Lymphedema Therapy or if you have questions, contact Encore Rehabilitation in Winfield, Haleyville, and Hamilton.
