Ellie is attends East Samford School where she competes in soccer and track. She recently suffered a sprained ankle. This is the third time she has done this and she really wanted to learn how to avoid it and strengthen her ankles. Therapists Daniel and Keena did just that!!! Ellie is back at soccer and feeling great!!!

Bridget is a Junior and competes in Volleyball, Soccer, Bowling, and Basketball. She has been name Most Improved-Soccer and Most Goals Scored-Soccer. In her free time, Bridget enjoys a variety of interest including singing, dancing, cooking, hiking, and playing sports.

Ashton LeBlanc – Gatorade Boys Soccer Player of the Year for Mississippi
Congratulations to Ashton LeBlanc of Gulfport High School for being named Gatorade Mississippi Boys Soccer Player of the Year!

 

According to a press release from Gatorade, the 6-foot, 165-pound junior defender led the Admirals to a 18-4-3 record and the Class 6A state championship this past season. LeBlanc was the anchor of a defense that notched 12 shutouts and allowed just one goal in four postseason games. He was a First Team All-State selection and a Coast Coaches All-Star Team honoree. 

 

A member of the Model United Nations at Gulfport High, LeBlanc has volunteered locally as a youth soccer coach. “Ashton was a leader of our defense,” said Henrik Madsen, head coach of Gulfport High. “He was the hardest-working player in every practice.” He will begin his senior year of high school this fall. 

 

Fellow Admiral Jarred Arde won the same honor for 2009-10.

Announcing Michael Bain “M.B.” Clemmons, Athlete of the Month for Saint Bernard Preparatory School and Encore Rehabilitation-Cullman!

M.B. is a Sophomore and multi-sport athlete for the Saints, competing in Cross Country and Soccer (#10). He has been awarded the Captain’s Award and the Silver Boot for soccer for three years. He plans to attend Martin Methodist College on a soccer scholarship and major in Homeland Security – Counter Terrorism.

M.B. is the son of Mike and Katie Clemmons.

2018 AHSAA North-South Boys and Girls Soccer All-Star Teams Announced

Coaches for the South Girls Soccer All-Stars are Cheryl Flores of McGill-Toolen Catholic, who coached the Lady Jackets to the school’s first Class 7A state championship last season, and Sophie Simantel of Auburn. Ken Wright of the Montgomery Public Schools is administrative coach.

Coaches for the North Girls Soccer All-Stars are Helena’s Cliff Naron and Russellville’s Trey Sanford. George Cavender (retired-SR Butler) will be the administrative assistant.

Coaching the North Boys Soccer All-Stars are Matthew Pharr of Cherokee County and Jake Siefert of Sparkman. Ken Wright of the Montgomery Public Schools is administrative coach.

Coaching the South Boys Soccer All-Stars are Bruce Ladner of Enterprise and Nick Berryman of Alabama Christian. George Cavender (retired- SR Butler) will be the administrative assistant.

The North swept both matches in 2017 with the girls winning 4-1 and the boys 5-2. The North girls hold a 13-2-1 edge in the series and the North Boys have a 10-4-1 advantage.

Henry is a Junior at Houston Academy where he competes in Football (#19) and Soccer (#8). He has been selected Alabama All-State 3A Punter. He would like to continue kicking  footballs in college where he plans to major in Political Science with a Pre-Med Track. In his free time, he likes to watch hockey and play sports.
