Encore Rehabilitation-Fairhope would like to welcome Garrett Pitts, PT, DPT!

Garrett received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy form Alabama State University. He has been a Clinician with Encore Rehabilitation for two years. Garrett says, “The best thing about being a Physical Therapist is getting a chance to get to know people and spend time with a lot of different people.”

Garrett played college baseball at Troy University and spent 14 years competing in Olympic Weightlifting. He is a two-time Regional Crossfit Team Competitor.

Congratulations to graduate Kara Tingle, Athlete of the Month for Good Hope High School and Encore Rehabilitation-Cullman!

Kara competed in Tennis, Track and Volleyball for the Raiders. She won numerous honors including: 1st in County  for 300m hurdles and 4×100 relay; 2nd in County 100m hurdles; 10th in State Meet; and hold four school records in pole vault, 100m hurdles, 300m hurdles, and 4×100 relay. She was the Captain of the Track Team and Head Captain of the Tennis Team. She also holds the distinction of being in the Top 10 in Alabama for 300m hurdles.

In addition to running and playing tennis, Kara also enjoys horse back riding. She plans to pursue a degree in Radiology by attending Wallace State Community College and the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

TEAMS Research Study for individuals diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (Grenada, MS)

Have you been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis or do you know someone diagnosed?

Encore Rehabilitation-Grenada is participating in TEAMS research study through UAB/Lakeshore Research and the Tanner Foundation.

The FREE TEAMS study will evaluates the effects of an exercise program on improving pain, fatigue, physical activity, and quality of life.

WHAT?
The TEAMS study is an exercise program that will be delivered through our clinic with our Physical Therapists or your home using exercise videos. You will randomly selected to do the exercise program in either of the two settings. The program will be adapted to your specific needs and abilities.

COST
No cost to you, plus receive compensation valued up to $380.

WHO?
Individuals between 18-70 years old who are diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Must be willing to participate in a 12-week exercise program.

McKenna competes in Basketball, Softball, and Cheer with Hubbertville School. She has earned several distinctions with her sports career including: Most Steals; Most Assists-two years (Varsity Basketball); Most Bases Stolen; Highest Batting Average; Most Extra Bass; Most Runs Scored-(Varsity Softball). McKenna is an upcoming Junior who plans to attend college to further her education. Her interests include hanging out with friends and family, basketball, softball, and cheer.

Emma is a Freshman at William Carey. She competes in Softball (#23) for the Crusaders. A History major, she plans to teach history and coach sports on the high school level. Her personal interests include music, playing the guitar, working out, and coaching.
