Encore Rehabilitation Tupelo is a well-established, fast-paced, and highly respected hand and upper extremity clinic serving a diverse patient population. Our collaborative team of Occupational Therapy practitioners, Physical Therapists and support staff is dedicated to delivering exceptional, evidence-based care in a positive and supportive environment.

We are seeking a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) or a passionate Occupational Therapist (OT) with a strong interest in hand therapy and a clear path toward CHT certification. This is an excellent opportunity to grow professionally in a dynamic clinical setting focused on upper extremity rehabilitation.

Position Overview:

As a hand therapist in our clinic, you will evaluate and treat patients with a wide range of conditions involving the hand, wrist, and elbow. You will collaborate closely with our surgical team and other therapists to provide individualized treatment plans focused on restoring function, strength, and mobility. 

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Current Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) license in Mississippi
  • Strong interest in upper extremity rehabilitation and working toward CHT (if not already certified)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Performing comprehensive upper extremity evaluations
  • Developing and implementing personalized treatment plans
  • Fabricating custom thermoplastic orthoses for post-operative and conservative management
  • Educating patients on injury prevention, activity modification, and home exercise programs
  • Communicating effectively with referring physicians and documenting patient progress

Preferred:

  • Certified Hand Therapist (CHT)
  • 1+ years of experience in hand therapy or orthopedic rehab
  • Familiarity with splinting techniques and post-operative protocols

Welcome to Allison Lowman, PT, DPT, Cert. DN, our new Clinic Director at Encore Rehabilitation–Leeds/Moody!

Allison is a talented Physical Therapist who brings a strong orthopedic background and a passion for helping others move and feel their best!

Her journey began at Wallace State Hanceville, where she earned an Associate of Science and played collegiate softball. She then transferred to Samford University, completing her Bachelor’s in Exercise Science while continuing her softball career. She later returned to Samford to earn her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT).

Before becoming a Physical Therapist, Allison worked for three years as an Orthopedic Medical Assistant, gaining valuable hands-on experience in patient care and orthopedic specialty. She now focuses on injury prevention, recovery, and helping patients return to the activities they love.

Outside the clinic, she enjoys coaching, staying active with CrossFit, volunteering in church outreach, and spending time with her family.

John Whiteside is Athlete of the Month for Encore Rehabilitation-Haleyville

Meet John Whiteside our Encore Rehabilitation – Haleyville, Athlete of the Month!

John is a Senior at UNC-Asheville where he pitches for the Bulldogs! He plans to graduate this summer and then try to sign to play baseball professionally in the future. When John is not training for baseball and studying, he enjoys hanging out with friends and family and playing video games.

John is the son of Sean and Celeste Whiteside.
